Description

If the company want to reinvest the profits made during a fiscal year back into the business, this amount is removed from the income statement and put into the shareholder’s equity account in the balance sheet. The shareholder’s equity account shows the total net worth of a company. If company wishes to balance the balance sheet they should make sure that the total assets equals the sum of total liabilities and shareholder’s equity.
